Hall Financial Group’s Patricia B. Meadows Honored for Civic, Artistic Contributions

FRISCO, TEXAS – April 2, 2008 – It’s been a month of honors for Patricia B. Meadows, Hall Financial Group’s Senior Vice President, Art and Community Outreach, who has been honored by both the Dallas YWCA and the International Sculpture Center (ISC).

The Dallas YWCA named Meadows as one of 100 women selected for their exemplary service to Dallas during the last 100 years, as part of the organization’s Centennial. The women selected to receive the YWCA Centennial Award have made, or continue to make, meaningful and lasting contributions to Dallas in the 100 years from 1908 to 2008. The nominations came from the Dallas community and the award recipients were chosen from 234 nominees.

The Dallas YWCA asserts that, “through hard work, passion, dedication and generosity, these legendary women have created and supported institutions, reforms and social services that have molded Dallas into the great city that it is today.” Meadows will be honored at the YWCA’s Centennial Gala, “100 Women, 100 Years,” on May 3.

In addition, Meadows, who is senior curator of the Hall Collection, was named to the International Sculpture Center (ISC) Board of Directors. The Hall Collection owned by Craig and Kathryn Hall includes more than 500 works of art and is installed in Texas, California, and Paris, France.

The ISC, based at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey, is a member-supported, non-profit organization founded in 1960 to advance the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique, vital contributions to society. Members include sculptors, collectors, patrons, architects, developers, journalists, curators, historians, critics, educators, foundries, galleries and museums. It is noted for its international symposiums, life-time achievement awards, scholarships, and educational seminars.

Meadows joined Hall Financial Group in 1999 after serving three years as an art consultant for the company. She is responsible for the unique art collection at Hall Office Park, the signature development of Hall Financial Group. The collection includes more than 165 works of art installed in the lobbies and on the grounds of Hall Office Park, including the Texas Sculpture Garden. Open to the public, this significant and unique collection celebrates the work of 41 prominent Texas sculptors.

Recognized as the largest private collection of contemporary Texas sculpture ever assembled and made available to the public, the Texas Sculpture Garden was created to benefit the Texas community by honoring the talent of homegrown artists and making their work accessible to everyone.

Visitors to the park enjoy both the art and its remarkable setting. Winding walking trails, lush landscaping, lakes and fountains have been specially designed to complement the art and provide a fitting backdrop for the work.

Meadows graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and has spent more than 20 years as a curator, juror, and organizer of art exhibits in the United States.
