Priour lives and works in Austin, Texas,
where he has taught for many years in
the Art Department of the University
of Texas in Austin. His favorite materials
are glass and fossiliferous limestone.
He enjoys combining them to defy the
fragile, breakable nature of glass and
the hard, heavy nature of monumental
stone pieces. Mr. Priour's piece for
the Texas Sculpture Garden was built
on site and references a "temple"
or gateway opening.
