Smith is a self-taught woodcarver. He
currently lives and works in Dallas,
Texas.His favorite subject matter is
U.S. wildlife and includes hawks, snakes,
whales, bulldogs, opossums, eagles,
fish and exotic cats such as tigers
and lions. Mr. Smith has had many invitational
exhibitions throughout Southwest and
has been called upon for commissions
for many private collections. His piece
for the Texas Sculpture Garden is a
rare panther piece, which he does only
occasionally as they are very labor-intensive
and they are always sought after by
a large group of collectors of his work.
