Havel received his M. F. A. from the
University of Minnesota and now lives
and works in Houston, Texas. He is head
of the well-known Glassel School in
Houston, which is affiliated with the
Houston Museum of Fine Arts. His work
has been shown nationally and internationally
to critical acclaim. Mr. Havel was selected
for the prestigious 2000 Whitney Biennial
in New York and has received grants
from the NEA, the Dallas Museum of Art,
and others.
